About Us

FIC Mandate

The FIC is the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Government of the Republic of Namibia, established in terms of the Financial Intelligence Act and statutorily mandated to assist with combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

The mission of the FIC is to protect the integrity of the Namibian financial system against risks posed by money laundering, financing of terrorism, financing of proliferation and other financial crimes.

Produce intelligence that assists combating activities such as investigations, asset recovery, and prosecutions.

Law Enforcement Agency Support

Support law enforcement agencies in the advancement of combating activities such as investigation, asset recovery, and prosecution.

Work with supervised entities to enhance their compliance with the AML/CFT/CPF framework.

Provide intelligence aimed at enhancing proactive combating and prevention of ML/TF/PF stakeholders.

Drive activities that shape the national and international AML/CFT/CPF framework while enforcing compliance with the FIA.
